01Who we are
Mission Run is made in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and operated by Right as Rain Software Inc. This policy covers the Mission Run app on iPhone and Android and the website missionrun.app. Questions and requests go to support@missionrun.app.
Canadian privacy law, PIPEDA, and Canada’s anti-spam law, CASL, apply to everything below.
02What we collect
Only what a run, a squad or an account needs. Nothing is collected for advertising.
- Account. Your email (used to send a sign-in code), first and last name, date of birth, gender and city for your enlistment record (the optional ones may be left blank), your call sign (public, and voiced once by the call-sign service), and your marketing consent with its time and locale.
- Location. Your GPS track and distance only during a run you start. Background location stays on for that run, with the system indicator showing. No location is used when no run is in progress. The track is kept on your phone and sent to the mission service with the run result. It is never shared live with other players.
- Fitness. Distance, duration and pace for each run, and squad results.
- Squads. Push-to-talk voice clips, recorded only while the talk button is held (10 seconds at most), delivered to that squad only, and purged after 72 hours unless reported, in which case they are kept until the report is reviewed. Reports and blocks between runners.
- Open Signal (if it ships in the beta, 18+ only). A date-of-birth age check, your city, your weekly run windows and an optional pace, so squads in your city can find you. Never stored: real name, photo, exact location, route or contact details.
- Crash reports. Crash logs, performance and device data through Sentry, not linked to you: no user id, no call sign, no location, no IP address stored. Off until Sentry is switched on.
- Subscription. Purchase history through RevenueCat, the App Store and Google Play. We never see your card.
- Website waitlist. Your email, city, whether you organise runners, your club, team or group name, how you would run (solo or with a group), whether you already use another story-running app, your phone platform, and the exact consent wording and time you agreed to it.
03How we use it
- To run the app: sign you in, score your runs, run your squad, bill your subscription.
- To run the beta: sort testers into the solo and team groups and invite organisers’ groups together.
- To email you: sign-in codes and account notices always; beta invites and launch news only with your express consent, which you can withdraw from any email.
- To keep runners safe: review reported voice clips and act on blocks.
- To fix crashes: using reports that are not linked to you.
04Who processes it
A short list of services, each for one job. None of them may use your data for their own purposes.
| Processor | What it does | What it sees |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Backend, sign-in and storage | Account, runs, squads, waitlist |
| RevenueCat | Subscription status | Purchase history, your account’s app user id |
| Sentry | Crash reporting (when switched on) | Crash and device data, not linked to you |
| ElevenLabs | Voices your call sign once | The call sign text only |
| Apple, Google | App distribution and billing | Your store account, under their policies |
05What we do not do
- No advertising, no tracking, no analytics SDKs that follow you across apps.
- No selling or renting data to anyone.
- No live location sharing between players, ever, in any mode.
- No public profile. Other runners see your call sign and nothing else.
06How long we keep it
- Voice clips: 72 hours, or until a report about them is reviewed.
- Account and runs: until you delete your account.
- Waitlist: until launch is over or you unsubscribe, whichever comes first.
- Consent records: as long as the law requires us to show consent was given.
07Your rights
You can delete your account inside the app, from the settings under your profile. Deletion removes your account, enlistment record and run history.
You can ask for a copy of your data, or for a correction, by emailing support@missionrun.app from the address on the account. We answer within 30 days.
You can withdraw marketing consent from any email we send, or by writing to us. Sign-in codes and account notices continue, because the account cannot work without them.
08Changes and contact
When this policy changes we update the date at the top and, for anything material, tell you in the app before it takes effect.
