Terms and safety notice

The rules for the Mission Run beta and the app, the subscription, and the safety notice every runner sees before a first run. Written to be read on a phone.

01The beta

Mission Run is operated by Right as Rain Software Inc. (“we”). Mission Run is in beta. The app, its missions, scoring and your progress may change, break or be reset between builds. We will tell you before a reset where we can. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the product, with no obligation on either side.

02Your account

Your account is your email address. You sign in with a code we email you; keep that code to yourself. One account per person. Your call sign is chosen once and locked; choose something you can live with, and nothing that impersonates another person or breaks the conduct rules below.

03Licence

We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute the app, its story, voices or art, or use them to build something else. The story, characters and art are ours or licensed to us.

04Subscription

  • Paid after launch. Mission Run is a subscription product. Plans and prices are shown in the app before you subscribe, and billed by the App Store or Google Play under their terms. What applies during the beta is set out in your invite.
  • Renewal and cancelling. Plans renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your store account settings. Refunds are handled by the store.
  • Changes. Prices and plans may change for future periods with notice in the app.

05Health and safety notice

Mission Run is a story that plays while you run on real streets. You are responsible for where and how you run. The app shows this notice before your first run, and it applies to every run after it.

The mission plays in your ear. The streets are real.

Eyes and ears

Watch for traffic, cyclists and uneven ground. Keep the volume low enough to hear cars and sirens.

Your route, your limits

Run where it is safe and legal. Stop if you feel unwell. Mission Run is not medical advice.

Tell someone

Running alone or after dark? Share your route and when you will be back, and wear something visible.

Stop before you use the phone

The hacks need you standing still. Step out of the way, finish, then run.

06Squads and conduct

Squad voice is push-to-talk, delivered only to your squad and purged after 72 hours. Do not use it, your call sign or anything else in the app to harass, threaten or impersonate anyone, or to share another runner’s location or personal details. Runners can report and block each other; we review reports and may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

07Liability

The app is provided as is during the beta. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from your running, your route, your fitness, or the app failing during a run. Nothing here limits rights you have under Ontario or Canadian consumer law that cannot be excluded.

08Changes, law and contact

We may update these terms; the date at the top changes and material changes are shown in the app before they apply. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and Canada.
